Join WMCS

WMCS currently has over 100 active members, some of whom you’ll see on stage and others who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our productions look and sound spectacular.

We have both an adult and a youth company, so whatever your age you’ll be more than welcome to join us.

About Us

WMCS was formed in 1935, and is one of the longest running amateur dramatic societies in the UK.

WMCS originally began with regular performances at Worthing’s Pier Pavillion; In 1981, WMCS moved to the Connaught Theatre and has remained the only amateur dramatic society in Worthing to be given the exclusive use of the theatre for performances.

Youth Company

WMCS Youth Company is in its 20th year and has been providing children aged between 8 and 15 a creative outlet where they can learn acting, singing, and dancing in a fun, relaxed and nurturing environment.

The youth company puts on their own shows each year, which are typically performed at Northbrook MET Theatre in Worthing to packed out audiences. We are extremely proud of the work that our young people produce, and this is supported by both parents and members of the WMCS Adult Company, and recognised within the local community.

Youth Company meets on Saturday mornings during term time, and many of the current adult company members started their acting journey within the Youth Company.
